Celebrating our MARvelous moms - behind every great kid is an awesome mom

May is a special month for Global Kids & Teens because we get to celebrate our MOMS and MAR! Our Child & Teen Advocacy team has some great programming planned throughout May.

Join us on May 12th for our first WE FIRST event geared for our children -- Advocating with Kids: A Mommy & Me event. We will enjoy story time, participate in hands-on activities, and have a dance party! You’ll get the chance to interact with MAR kids across the country who are ready to dig in and “do the work, starting at home.” Children learn by watching us--let’s be intentional and provide meaningful content for them to learn how to advocate. Providing these hands-on experiences instills our mission of becoming active allies in ending systemic racism.

Let’s continue to advocate by celebrating our one year anniversary for Moms Against Racism! Last year, our grassroots organization held their first event as an Anti-picnic in protest of confederate statues at a local South Carolina park. We encourage all families to engage by having their own Protest Picnic on May 27th as we continue to fight against racism across our country. Create signs, pack a lunch, grab your picnic blanket and head to your front yard or local park. This is a great way for kids to show their support and use their voice to take a stand. We hope everyone will have a chance to participate and share your experience virtually!
